The Focus of Our Efforts

NVMICS is committed to creating a workplace and educational space where dignity, trust, respect and the promotion of diversity and inclusion is valued. Our culturally and linguistically diverse new arrival migrants and employees are a reflection of the community of NSW.

Of all the Australian residents in NSW, it is the most culturally diverse. In 2016, the New South Wales population was 7,480,237 of which nearly 28% were born overseas. Additionally, 25.1% of the population spoke a language other than English at home. In 2018, 26.1% were born overseas and 19.4% spoke a language other than English at home.

Nakango Visions Multicultural Integration Community Services, our commitment to people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. It aims to deliver on the objective of the Multicultural in NSW that people from culturally diverse communities achieve their social and economic participation in the development of their dreams to ensure the consistency of outcomes across the NSW Public Service Sector. NKVICS, Cultural and Linguistic Diversity (CALD) work closely with different communities to address the needs of people from a CALD background and support members of the CALD community in overcoming barriers and helping them to gain the training they need to find employment.

We aim to empower everyone along their educational and employment pathways. We achieve this by collaborating with various community providers to create programs that align with the specific needs of CALD groups.

Most of our efforts pertaining to this program involve studying new approaches and developing innovative ways to implement them. We evaluate our success in this field by gathering qualitative and quantitative data, and using that information to measure shifts and changes from our baseline measurements.

Tackling the Issue

We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our partners are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it.
